It all began in the summer of 1974. On July 21 the Minneiska Ski Team performed its first ski show at the Lion's Club chicken barbecue picnic. The ski team was well received and soon moved to the Laursen's TC Campground. Thus our beginning. The Whitewater Lake Sports Club was initially formed to include many sports, but water show skiing became the favorite sport of choice. The name Minneiska was fitting because it is the Indian name for white water. As Minneiska grew in name and numbers it became very popular and began competing at the Lamb's Farm tournament, the WI State Tournament, and Show Ski Nationals. We are a very proud group, and although we do not hold title to multiple trophies, we do have a number of honorary and prestigious awards. |
